The workspace has a sidebar for places, a header for actions, and a filter bar that appears only where it can genuinely do something. This is a tour of all three, plus the two things people most often hunt for: the Organization Profile, and why a page sometimes says you don't have access.
The sidebar
Top to bottom: the ARRIVE logo, an Organization selector, a Location selector, then your navigation, then the version indicator. The chevron beside the logo collapses the whole sidebar to icons.
The Location selector scopes what you're looking at; "All Locations" is the default.
Navigation is grouped into four:
- Workspace — Overview, Calendar, Events, Programs.
- Marketplace — Bookings, Opportunities, Pipeline.
- Relationships — Performers, Contacts, Messages.
- Organization — Members, Spaces, Reports, Assets, Settings.
An item you don't have the permission for isn't shown, and a whole group disappears if nothing in it is visible to you. Messages carries an unread badge.
Hover any item to reveal a pin. Pinned views collect in a Pinned group above everything else — up to eight. The permission is re-checked every time the sidebar renders, so a pin can never outlive the access that justified it, and at the cap the pin control is disabled with an explanation rather than silently dropping one of your existing pins.
Two labels are worth knowing about because the page is broader than the word suggests:
- Spaces opens a page titled Locations & Spaces — your venues and the rooms inside them.
- Assets is your media library, and it is governed by the Organization Profile permission rather than an "Assets" one. If you can't open it, that's the permission to ask for.
The header
Create (+) is the quick-create menu. It offers, permission by permission: New Event, New Program, New Booking, New Opportunity, New Space, New Contact and Upload Asset. Every entry goes to a create flow that already exists — contacts and assets open their module's page with the create or upload dialog already open. If your role can't create anything, the menu says so plainly: "No create actions available for your role." The whole button is hidden until your organization is verified, because every destination in it would be locked.
Search is a command palette. Click it or press ⌘K (Ctrl+K on Windows). Type at least two characters and it searches across your organization at once, grouped by type and capped at five per group:
| You search | It matches on |
|---|---|
| Events | event name |
| Bookings | booking reference code |
| Programs | program name |
| Opportunities | title |
| Performers | marketplace name — approved profiles only, and only once you're verified |
| Contacts | name or company |
| Messages | thread subject |
| Assets | title |
| Locations and Spaces | name |
Results are keyboard-navigable; selecting one navigates and closes the palette. Everything it returns is scoped to your organization and your access.
? opens About ARRIVE OS and a link to contact support. The bell shows your organization's notifications, and shows nothing at all when there is nothing unread.
The filter bar
Below the header, some pages get a Filter bar. It appears on five pages only, and each shows just the dimensions it can genuinely scope — a control that filtered nothing would be worse than no control:
| Page | Date range | Location | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| Events | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ |
| Bookings | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ |
| Opportunities | ✓ | — | ✓ |
| Pipeline | ✓ | — | ✓ |
| Calendar | — | ✓ | ✓ |
The gaps are deliberate. Opportunities has no location filter because an opportunity carries a free-text city, not one of your organization's locations. Pipeline mixes bookings and opportunities and carries no location either, so its status list is built from the cards actually on the board. Calendar has no date range because the calendar already owns its own date window, and a second one would fight it — its status list is likewise built from what's loaded.
Status means something different on each page, so the options come from that page's own vocabulary rather than one shared list.
Filters live in the URL. That is the useful part: a filtered view is a link. Scope Events to one location and a date range, copy the address, and whoever opens it sees exactly what you saw. Your own scope is also remembered as you move between pages — but a link always wins over your saved scope, so a shared view shows what it says. A Clear filters button appears whenever anything is active. A date range counts as one filter, not two.
The account menu — and where the Organization Profile lives
The circle with your initial, top right, opens the account menu:
- Who you are, and which organization is active.
- Organization Profile — your organization's details, departments and the verification request. (Organization permission)
- Account & security — opens the Security tab of Settings: password and two-factor. (Settings permission)
- Sign out.
The Organization Profile is not in the sidebar. It lives here, in the account menu, because it is an account surface rather than a daily destination. Settings deliberately stayed in the sidebar; only the profile moved. If you're looking for verification, that's where it is — see Getting your organization verified.
When a page says you don't have access
Most pages don't hide themselves. If your role lacks the permission, the page opens and tells you what to ask for: "You don't have access to Bookings for your organization. Ask an organization admin for the Bookings permission." Events, Programs, Calendar, Bookings, Opportunities, Pipeline, Performers, Contacts, Messages, Locations & Spaces, Reports, Assets, Settings and Billing all behave this way, each naming its own permission.
That's the fastest route to a fix: read the panel, ask the named person for the named permission.
What this does not do yet
Search has no filters or "see all results" page, and it caps at five per type — a broad word will show you a sample, not everything. The Opportunities group is listed among the result types but does not return matches today; the workspace loads opportunities through a different route. The filter bar doesn't appear on list pages beyond those five, and never on a detail page. Sidebar collapse is per-session, not remembered.
